Attachments - Are they deleted when post deleted?

Was wondering if the attachment that gets uploaded, is actually deleted when the post is deleted?
Or do you have to go into the database and manually delete it.

Admin > attachments > Shadow attachments AND
Admin > Download > File Maintenance your after something like that?

I didn't know where the files went when uploaded.
i found them under forum/files/ folder.

Actually I checked, and when you delete the post, the attached file remains. You have to go through FTP and manually delete them.

Yep, I'm seeing it too. Although from what I'm reading in those spots in admin they should be gone.

Actually I figured it out - go to ACP>attachments>shadow attachments.
This is where any attachments that are left behind after deleting the posts will show.
You can delete anything that comes up here.

I know look up in the tread, It's one of the spots I sent you too. Thats how i've been doing it all along. <img>
But i just cleaned up my folders and it said it did deleted them but i ran into the same thing as you, i had to ftp to remove the files. I've never had to do that before.
