I'm wondering, how to make it so that people have to register to see my forum/portal/calendar/...

I haven't found any option in the admin panel (unless I've missed it).

Admin > forum admin > management+ > edit

Then the bottom half of the the page for each forum controls it's permissions.
You can have it setup any way you want for each forum through that area.
