Bump, if bump is allowed.

I've got the new install done, and want to restore my bakcup from 1.4.0

Can I simply use the restore and upload my old backup? I'd be great if I could get my previous users back into the database.

If I can't use restore, how can I get my previous users back into the DB?

Thanks!

you should be able to use the 132/140 upgrade.

the only files youll need from your previous 140 forum are
config.php
includes/def_* (all of them)
includes/phpbb_security.php

If your original forum is still there, rename it. Upload the regular IM141 files to the original forum location to keep the database /path the same
http://www.integramod.com/forum/dload.p ... ile_id=107
overwrite the new IM141 files with the ones I said you'd need to save from your 140 forum.
delete the prill_install folder
set all the file permissions
upload the update install folder to your new forum
in your browser, visit http://www.yoursite/install/db_update_to_141.php

if you have troubles, upload the includes/def_* (all of them) , from the new IM141 folder, set their permissions to 666 and go to acp/forum admin/resync forums

if you have photos, files, and attachments from your 140 site, you may copy them from your original site to your new 141 site
root/album_mod/upload
root/files
root/pafiledb/uploads
root/pafiledb/images/screenshots
root/images/smilies
root/images/avatar

What would happen if I just used the restore database upload file option in the acp?

I don't necessarily need all the old stuff (pictures, files, additional pages, etc), just my previous registered users.

My new install has a new database with new name and new admin user name.

However, I still have the old database one on my server, as well as my DLed backup on my local machine.

Thanks for the assist above, Helter.

i think you would be in for a long long night. Your previous forum has its own users. All users have a unique user id. every post in your db is attached to these id's and usernames. If try to combine them, you will have 2 user id 3's two user id 4's etc. You will also have conflicting forum id's, post id's, etc.. the list goes on. I tried to combine the integramod forum and home db's and realized that it is an impossible feat. You can use one or the other.
