I have run into a big problem ... At least it is for me. When someone registers for my site, they are not creating a new account, they are actually changing my (admin) profile which makes it impossible for me to log on. They also have access to the ACP and more.

Has this happened to anyone else? And, if so, what needs to be done to fix it.

Help, please!

[b]EDIT] I checked the Alter Form Display in the PCP Wizard for the Registration Information, and the Auth Level are all set to Registered User.

I noticed on mine when new people registered they could select their own rank, but they could also select to become Admin !!

They are not, there are 2 separate ranking systems and they are not tied to the forum admin, mod or jr admin.

Something is wrong guys, but you need more knowledge that I have, hang on I'm sure someone will have ideas.

setting your rank to site admin, will not give you administrative privs. It is only a rank. It should be a "special rank" by default and only an admin may assign it. Ive never heard of defiantwisdom's prob before and off the top of my head, i dont know what could cause that other than modding admin/admin_ug_auth incorrectly

I went back into the Alter Form Display in the PCP Wizard and clicked Submit without making any changes ... It seemed to do the job and I have not had anymore problems with registration.

Not too sure what could have caused it ... A little weird if you ask me ... <img>

It should be a "special rank" by default and only an admin may assign it.

But the custom rank feature seems to use the special rank settings so if i set up, say, Star Trek ranks that i want people to choose from when they sign up, it'll list:

Captain
First Officer
Ensign
Site Admin


Even tho Site Admin is not in the user_special_ranks list of values and i only want actual admin to hav an admin rank.

How do I stop that happening?
