Here is the story. My webhost is 'migrating' my sites to their 'new platform.' I have copied all files & databases to the new site and am attempting to test my sites on the new platform before updating the DNS information to officially move my site over.
ISSUE: When I log in to my IM site at
http://newlocation.com, the login takes me to
http://originallocation.comWhat file do I need to update so the login STAYS at the newlocation.com rather than taking me to originallocation.com? The way it is, I cannot test my 'new platform' site.
Any ideas?

I think you have to change your domainname in you database.
When you copied everything from your ald domain to your new domain, including the db, in the phpbb_config table the domain is still your old domain. Thats why I think you will be redirected to your old domain....

I agree with Obiku and running the Cookie Mod may help as well. thats the first thing I do If I switch servers.

You guys were right. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to edit the databases at all since once the DNS changes are made to officially transfer my sites, it will be back at the original location (according to the typed web address). However, there were only three instances that I found where I needed to change an address (but admittedly I stopped looking when I found the right one):
cookie domain
news base url
server name (this is the one that HAD to be changed)
Interestingly, phpbb3 doesn't have this issue. It works fine 'out of the box' when tranferring...
