De.scription and Message

I have two forums that are 2.0.19 and 2.0.20 that have IMPortal installed. I want to upgrade to IntegraMod.

I have made sevaral failed attempts that had varying degrees of success. These are both live boards that have thousands of posts. I want to come up with a process that works before I do it for real.

My last attempt went like this:

The forum is currently in http://www.mysite/phpbb/ so I created a mirror in http://www.mysite/forum/ . It was an EXACT duplicate. I them created an exact mirror of the database and edited the config table to reflect the new home directory. It worked FLAWLESSLY at this point, members were all there as well as messages. It was an exact copy of the original forum in every way. After testing this pretty thoroughly I copied the files for IntegraMod as directed. The original database was for a 2.0.19 ver. of phpbb so I copied the update_to_latest.php into install directory that Integramod used. I ran this and it reported that it successfully updated the database from 2.0.19 to 2.0.22. WooHoo, or so I thought. I then ran the upgrade.php for Integramod. All looked OK until I got this error message:

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function: page_header() in /home/labrier/public_html/cardclubs/forum/install/upgrade.php on line 68"

UGGHH! I figured I could not hurt anything at this point so I gave it a try anyway. It looked nice ... at first. All my blocks were there, my overall banners were still there. Then I tried to log in. I was told that there were too many failed attempts and my account was banned. I tried my test account and was told the same thing.

So now I have wiped it all out and will start over. Will this method of attack work better?

1.) Make a new duplicate copy of my database.

2.) Copy a fresh copy of Integramod install files into my /forum/

3.) rename the install directory to IntegraInstall

4.) copy my config.php into /forum/ modified to point to the new directory

5.) create a new install directory and copy the clean_tables mod into it as well as the update_to_latest.php from 2.0.22

6.) run clean_tables.php and then upgrade_to_latest.php. This should give me a clean 2.0.22 database. I would LOVE to leave the tables for my banners but I am afraid that might muck things up.

7.) Delete the install directory and rename integrainstall back to install and run t

At this point I should be able to delete the install directory and log in for the first time.

Am I missing any thing or is there something I should do differently?

Any advise would be appreciated!

Why not a fresh install of IM141 and then upload the contents of your old db of the things u want to keep, e.g. phpbb_user, phpbb_forum, topics, posts, smileys...

Just make sure you adjust the db tables so the new db recognises all the tables.

I did this when I first discovered IntegraMod and it worked fine.
