Can we set online status as default memberlist order?

Just wondered how to go about this ... when a user first goes to the memberlist, instead of the default list being ordered by username, is it possible for the list to be ordered according to online status by default?

I've tried using PCP in admin but to no avail. Is there a setting in the php files that decides this and can it be changed?

it's a different kind of list that doesnt hav the adjustability and search that the memberlist has ... but perhaps they're linked in some way which might help us find the .script that sets the default order of the memberlist.
