What was done to try to solve the problem?
Looked for time zone settings, and made changes.

Surely a simple solution.

I'm in the central time zone in the US.

My board isn't on the correct time.

How should I fix that? My time zone should be GMTZ -6.

Should that be my profile of the admin, or changed within the admin CPL? If so, how?

your timezone in the acp/general admin section should be set to the timezone of your server, meaning that if your server is on the west coast it should be set to GMT-8 etc.. Your profile should be set to your personal timezone
