RSS FEED

Is it possible to incorporate an RSS feed for new posts directly to the forums as opposed having to have it cluter the homepage itself ?
Also the previously listed url for the RSS service that used to be on this original site has since gone offline, are there any others to allow me to set my forum RSS ?

Set your home page to not show any News Posts.

Then you have to select News when you post something.

You can add your RSS feed to your email and get them directly to your email box.

Thanx bro, I have the feed burner set up and working fine, and I already had the feeds set for email.
Maybe Helter should take out that dead link in the RSS feed tutorial and insert feedburner.com in its place.
But heres 1 word of caution, your host may have to tweak your MySqyl query buffering a bit or it CAN cause your databse to crash if too many reader bots are crawling while people are actually reading your feeds.

I used my feeds for a toolbar, and my host suspended my account 4 times.
Seems the feed for these forums sucks up the resources.
Using anywhere from 10-40% of the server load.
My allowance is max 10% before they suspend.

I have feeds from an e-store to my toolbar and they run ok.
Doesn't appear to use any resources.

Easy way around that Bro,
I have my feed in my sites downloadable toolbar as well as many other RSS feeds, a custom MP3., radio, my site links, search bar, news scroller (I disabled), and custom direct link to my chatroom etc etc.

Try using conduit...you also make monet when people download your toolbar.

I already use that toolbar.

I had feed to ticker and feeds area, and it caused my account to overload.
Not the toolbar, but the site using too much resources.

They gave me a log and it specifically showed the rss feed drawing all the resources.

Removed the feeds and never had a problem again.

Set your home page to not show any News Posts.

When I tried in News Management the news block was still on the homepage.
If I go to IM Portal and deactivate the block where the feed shows, when you click the RSS from the reader it takes you back to where it originaly was on the homepage.

Deactivate the "Integra News" block, or if you changed the name, turn off that block.

It will completely remove all the news on the portal page.

It shows up on the rss feed, but when you click it to read it, it takes you back to the homepage, where the deactivated news block was.
Its no story there.
As opposed to going to the forum itself, its back to the homepage.

I think its in the settings:

News Mod Base URL:
The location of your news index file.

News Mod Index File:
portal.php

What do I need to have it set to to read directly from the forum threads itself ?

Does anyone have a an active RSS feed using feed burner I could use as a comparison ?
Something isnt right with mine and Ive had to disable it.
I'd like to bring it back due to popular demand this week.
