When useing the style select to change to another style my styles seem to be starting the other style on the forum section, how can i make them start on the portal page?


One more question Im running 1.4.1 and i have modifided the style EQ2 to where it looks nothing like the EQ2 style. how can i change the name of it, so i can install the EQ2 style in the forum with out the modifacation. i tryed renaming the EQ2 theme folder and adding all folders and stuff but when i go to install that theme with a different name (EQ-2 instead of EQ2)it does not show as a theme i can install, i see nothing of it in the extream section on install or remove?

download the theme
#1. change the folder name
#2. edit the name of EQ2.css
#3. edit the name of EQ2.cfg
#4. edit theme_info.cfg. Change all instances of EQ2 to your new theme name
#5. (the fun part)
most files have the border and the image path must be edited. The two main tables youll find in most pages are these

i have a weee bit of a problem, i have went in and changed all references of EQ2 and changed them to EQ-2 now when i load it in and try to install it i get this

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '[' in /www/the_stronghold/templates/EQ-2/theme_info.cfg on line 8

this is "theme_info.cfg" i added a - between the Q and 2
im asuming this is the file that tells it what style to install?
if i take all dash's out i cant see the theme?

any ideas on how to fix it so i can install a unmodified version of EQ2?
after making this post Question: is it the dash have i got to make a name with out dash?
and also how can i remove the EQ2 theme i modified and give it a new name, or give it a new name with out removing it? when i tryed to export it it only exported 1 page? when i went in and tryed to rename it cracker tracker comes on?

I do not think the dashes should cause trouble, but it is possible. try changing it to EQ3

Thanks Helter it was the dash after i changed everything to EQ3 it worked

was wondering how i can take my redesigned theme out of my web site and maybe add it here for others to have a differant theme. with a differant name, and will it keep the rotating header peitures and other stuff i added?

rename the EQ2 folder and reupload the original EQ2 then go to acp/eXtreme Styles and delete the cache for EQ2.
