Still can't get the mail to go out upon registration emails or inter-connection on the board.

I tried connecting the board to my Ubuntu 9.04 box, but IM1.41 does not do authenticated emails...

i believe "authenticated emails" would be server side. phpBB uses one of two methods to send email. By default it uses phpmail. Many providers are disabling this in php.ini due to spam abuse. You should still be able to use smtp. If it is not working verify your username/password for your smtp account.

You should also read the KB article regarding email problems if your using phpmail, or emailer.php

I solved the problem by using a tiny 3rd party SMTP server as a workaround. Works like a charm! <img>
