I am an admin on an IPBfree board and we are tossing around the idea of getting our own domain and our own software package. We have a few who have used integramod already and are very comfortable with the setup.

Is there a way to take our information, users, DB from our IPBfree board and bring it over to an integramod setup or do we have to start from scratch?

Helter may know better but why not convert to phpBB3 first, then it should be fairly easy... of course you would need to do it locally first (on your pc)...

you have to ask your host if they will release the database. Some free hosts will not do this due to the intermingled db structure. If they will release it, there is a script to change it to a phpBB2 or 3 format.

not sure if they will release it or not yet. We dont have a ton of info so we are also contemplating just scrapping what we have and starting fresh so that way its a clean install and clean DB.

Is the option to make a backup removed?
Else you can back it up, or maybe request for a backup.

with it being a free version we do not have the option to do our own backups and thats why we are talking to the hosting company to try and get a copy of the DB but no luck so far.

can't you read the database settings from the config file?
