OK a new annoyance with 141 <img>

I got PMs turned on everywhere but some reason new members who sing up, have PMs set to no in their profile.

Did I missing a setting in 141 that was not in 132???

Looking the rabbit holes goes much deeper, doing a DB search for folks with PM set to 0 finds allot of folks. folks who I know could send PMs before the upgrade to 141.

Is there a string I could run to mass edit everyone to tunr on PMs

acp/General Admin/Configuration+/Profile options/
Notify on new Private Message = Yes
Override user choices: = Yes
submit

also check that they are allowed to send PMs in acp/General Admin/Configuration+/Profile options/Administration

Ok I did that but no help for those who are already turned off.

no mass edt SQL thingy I could run to turn all those off to on???

There is no reason we would ever disable someone PMs and we got allot of old members with it off too.

if you set it to override user settings, it does not matter what they set it to they should have the same access as if they set it to yes themselves

If you want to do it via sql querry, pm [url=http]Mighty Gorgon[/url]. He is the sql master and can probably tell you off the top of his head exactly how to phrase your querry

IM sure its my fault as when we set up 141 it was done in a rush but allot of folks are still messed up, now findign some with avatars n sigs turned off too, and they are counted on the viewonline.php page as hidden but are not, slanty text though, but their profile is not set to hidden, but pm sig n avatar is off.

Though are not slanty or counted as hidden in the whos online block.

Very odd, just stumbled onto that part of it as a mod saw more then 1 hidden user online on the viewonline.php page, when I am the only 1 who is allowed to hide <img>

Seems to be a clue in on to folks who are messed up.

got a screen cap of one, can see the user is counted n slanted like he is hidden but is not, go into profile and PM, avatar is off, some times sig is off.

change settings, go back and displays as normal.
