Prillian - Does anyone use it?

I'm wondering if anyone uses Prillian, and what their opinions of it are. I don't have it running on my main site, but left it on for my Mod site. Every time it loads, though, (regardless of site) I simply close the Prillian window.

I'm just wondering what the purpose of it is, considering there are other IM programs that are easier, and if anyone has found it useful.

Well, I turned off my popup blocker for this site and my sites (due to PM notification), so Prillian still comes up for me.

I always use the top profile link and then never miss a post or pm
Hi All,

I have noticed that when I send pm's it takes forever for people to even read them. It may say new message at the top, but obviously people are not seeing this. I think many people users of the site may just be using the forum lists to keep up with new posts.

A great way to really keep up to date with all the posts is to click on profile. It will show if you have a new message and will detail all posts since your last visit. You need never miss a aopic thread again. As soon as I logon I press my profile and see all new messages here.

So please, check your pm's and use the profile link.

Many thanks,

A

I find both distracting and timewasting, also there is no record of the conversations, and this is a shame if you are talking forum business. You may as well use pms. (personal opinion)

I've found Prillian to be a fairly useless feature. The chatbox, though, seems to be appreciated by some of my users. I've removed the shoutbox, as it seemed a bit superfluous.

I've heard it slows down your sites loading speed. I've had it with and w/out, but noticed little if any difference in speed, so dunno how true it is.

Shoutbox is a novelty, folks used it alot when the site was first set up, but now they hardly ever use it... I had removed it from the forum page but after the recent updates its back.. have to remeber how to remove it from there...

I loathe Prillian and see no need to continue it in future IM releases. Since it was an optional feature in previous releases it does allow for each user to decide on their own. However, if nearly no one is using Prillian, it should be tossed aside so that precious time and resources can be focused on other features.

As for ShoutBox and the side-thread that has developed, my members use it quite frequently.

Never used prillian here and it's not installed on my site.
It's rather an annoying popup to me...

My vistitors use the shoutbox and sometimes even the chatbox.
I like to keep the chatbox possible, but there's no need for prillian on my site.

I actually like it. I keep the window open in the lower part of my screen so I can see at a glance who is online while I am at work. MY users seem to like it also, especially the ones that use the library or college computers where you cant install any of the IM apps. They would rather use Prillian then Online AIM or MSN Online because those really suck. Your lucky if the person your IMing gets the message 10 minutes later if at all.

As far as the Shoutbox, I got rid of it cuz it seems pretty redundant. A message board on a message board?
