De.scription and Message

Hey guys. I've got importal set up with phpbb and I set up a "welcome guest" block just above the "news" block in the portal. I set the permissions to only allow guests to view this block but it seems that I and moderators still can view this. Members can not. Any ideas?

Set Cache to No on it, and then clear IM Portal cache - that may work.

Hi,

All blocks regardless of their permission settings seem to show to Admins. I asked about this "glitch" recently and have not heard anything back you. Have you got this fixed?

I would think that the admins need to see everything and would say it was working right.

Not!

This is a feature common to most top end CMS systems. This feature is missing here big time. If I have many blocks on my portal page it ends up being 10 miles long! Serious waste of space!

There has to be code added to make this a feature soon! If I need to see how a block looks I make it visible to me, work on it, then make is visible to the right people. I have test accounts for each user type to see how things look in their reality.

Again my question is how can this be done... my question on a tech support forum is not to debate if it should be done. So please can we not waste my time here.

Thanks!

This system is set up so admin can view everything....as is standard phpbb...

Which is what the system is built for it is not a CMS system there are plenty of those you can use..... this is an add on for phpBB...

Also if something happened and your block messed up some how you would never know .... except your guests coming to your site and they might leave because of it....

Please remember not to post everywhere regarding the same problem you have... and if any member is wasting your time in your opinion maybe you can learn to code the apparent glitch yourself...

So let me be real clear...

The blocks that waste my space are when you first go to our site before anyone can login. If there were a problem with them I would see them as everyone would. Once I login I do not need to have them waste my space. Again I have to debate if it should be done rather then hey here is the code section to check out.

Can you point me to lines of code please. I believe this will be wanted by many people. The more blocks we have for guest the more wasted space...

BTW I disagree your MOD is a awesome CMS! Makes PHPBB outstanding!!! I fell in love thats why I will continue to post all over to make it even that much more user friendly.

So is there a way to cyber beg for this help. We are a large online school website for continuing education and need just a few tweaks.
