Error with the right blocks displaying

Hiyas, wlel I installed IM portal a day or two ago on my site, and I set it to display the right blocks on all pages, including for my forums.
However, the blocks will show up on the portal bit, BUT NOT on my actual forums. It does, however, make the space that I set in portal config, by default 150 pixels, available. But this is a blank space. If I disable right blocks in the config of my acp, the blank area disappears, but this is not what I want.
If anyone can help I'd be grateful, PS I am a noob, please keep it simple where possible, cheers.
My site url is http://www.fh-clan.net/forums it won't work if u type fh-clan.net as I am having probs with my site's redirects atm.
Cheers again,
Fern

Btw, you might need to set it to footer for the right blocks to display that's what I had to do, but thanks for the answer anyway, being pooodling about with my site all week trying to figure that out.
Cheers!!

Okay, that now works fine, but I have a new problem. My forums look like this:
http://www.fh-clan.net/forums a left bar, right bar and the forums in the middle. But goto http://www.fh-clan.net/forums/portal.php and both blocks display, but there's a huge gap. Can someone please tell me how to fix this, as I want the left and right blocks tight against the middle bits in both the forum, my portal and any pages I add to my portal.
Cheers!

I have just encountered the same problem when turning on "system-wide portal footer".

The the main IM portal page (portal.php) has a gap between the center blocks and the right-side (footer) blocks. The center appears to be scrunched up to the left a bit. But, when I go into the actual forums listing or to the photo album, the gap is gone (center section resizes/fills in to the right) and everything looks all nice and tight and perfect. It's as if there is some margin set and it won't resize past a certain point, leaving a gap.

Now, if I turn off "system-wide portal footer" it looks perfect, but of course, the right side blocks are gone when viewing the forums, album, etc.

What did you do to fix this?

I fixed it by using a different page layout. I think it's the default page layout that is screwed, page layout 1 or 2 works fine for me though.

I am currently (always been) using the IM Portal Default (portal_body.tpl) as my default. I've never changed this.

I've never changed page layouts so, if I choose to make layout1.tpl the default, will I lose all blocks I added and have to recreate them? Do I have to setup blocks again under Blocks Management?

EDIT UPDATE:

Here are screen shots to better give example and also a new problem with the voting block.

Front page - Portal.php (the gap between center and right side)

Going into the actual forum list (everything sized perfectly - this is how it should look):

NEW PROBLEM with Voting block (It increases width only when going into the actual post of where the vote was generated AND it also includes the most recent voting poll results from any new poll - cache files have been deleted and same thing):

Okay, I know nothing about the poll and I would appreciate any help on how to actually make a poll, I have the block it's just I don't know what to enter to give the options etc.
Okay, firstly, you won't lose your blocks, at least I didn't so I'm pretty certain you won't, although just as a foolproof it might be a good idea to copy the code for the blocks to wordpad, then if something does go wrong you can easily rectify it. All you gotta do to remove the gap is change to layout1.tpl or whatever it's called, or layout 2.

Lemme know if you need any more help mate

Changing it to layout1.tpl and making it default fixed the gap issue. Thank you. I had to recreate some of the blocks, but some of them were already there.

So, no ideas on with the vote block issue?

I found the solution in this post back in 2006. Thanks Achaab. You have to take the poll files from Integramod and replace the IM Portal ones.
