PHP warnings on admin (not really important)

I couldn't find a thread that contained the same errors that I'm getting. Despite my assumption it's happened before.

On the admin pages oh IM Portal I have this

It's not really bothering me. I can do everything I want to do. But this has shown up on 2 seperate installations, and someone else could have the same problem down the road somewhere. phpBB version is 2.0.23.

check that your root/var_cache/ folder is chmodded to 777

lol That directory doesn't exist.

Why might that be? It's not a user-created directory I don't think. I'm guessing something needs to create it first?

reupload your files. Your ftp client dropped it because it is in all Integramod 1.x.x packages
