Any idea why I would be getting this error after installing the mod from what I can tell correctly. Maybe I did something stupid like add a weird period somewhere however:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_DNUMBER in /home2/clanpla/public_html/forum/includes/sessions.php on line 388

I'm sweatin a bit.

It's not huge, it'll take about 20 minutes to a half hour.

There are two edits to sessions.php and neither of them around around line 388. Could be that you had a slight hickup on upload of the file and it may be corrupted. Use a backup or one from the download package, try modding it again and reupload.

OK, I got the forum to work with a new upload of the files. But now I'm having some problems with other things. Moderators are not able to edit the first topic in posts or to edit posts made before the upgrade. I am also having problems with making news posts into Announcements for the Portal will not stay hold when I hit submit. When I go back in to edit it again, it still won't hold.

I'll add on more as I find them.

i read the install instructions on this one, and if i read it right, anyone with an admin or mod status can read the pw protected forums/topic without the pw. is this right?

Umm, no, junior admins can get in without the password if you set up your code that way. I chose to.

DDay

Also, any info on ways I can get it so people can edit posts made before the update, and a way for mod's to edit topic starters?

is there a way to set it so only the people knowing the pw for that forum is the only way to see that forum?

the only way to do that is to make a group for users who know the password and set that forum to private(hidden) nad set that only that group can see/acces that forum

thanks, i am not having luck with usergroups, cannot get the auto ones to auto join people.

so i have this forum that is private hidden, but all the admins can see it, and if i want myself to be the only one to see it, i have to create a usergroup, be the only member of that group, and then set permissions where to be able to be the only one to view that group.

and once i do all that, you are sure that on one but me will be able to see that forum?

a admin will always see al the forums and have acces to it
