The database wasn't updating the checkbox of HIDE... manually updating the database didn't fix it either.

Also the 1.4.0 fix didn't seem to work either. I've shut down my polls and shall wait help from someone much smarter than I am.

im not sure why, but when i made a poll on the 141 demo and checked both hide buttons, it did not work. When i edited the post, they were unchecked. I checked them again and it worked properly

I haven't tried BOTH checkboxes... I'll run and try that manually in the database. See if that works.

Even a temp fix will get me by.

Manually checked both in database... shows both are checked during an edit. Still doesn't hide the results before or after an edit for me.

But thanks for looking into this!!!

Anyone else have any ideas? I'm running out of time before our awards ceremony, so I'm going to have to open the polls back up for voting and just let them know the outcome up front. Not ideal... but doable.

I tried different variations of settings in tinkering with this issue. Checking both results and votes to hide them didn't seem to stick until I also set an expiration on the poll.

I created a test poll, checked to hide results and votes and set a 10 day expiration on the poll.

Now when clicking on view results (when logged into a test account) I get the following:

Results will be visible after the poll expires
Poll expires in : 9 Days, 23 Hours, 32 Minutes

Admins and mods cannot view results either but it still shows how many votes despite having it checked to hide results. But it IS hiding the results.

*EDIT* - When unchecking the box to hide # of votes I get this:

Voted : 2
Total Votes : 2
Results will be visible after the poll expires
Poll expires in : 9 Days, 23 Hours, 21 Minutes

When checking the box to hide # of votes I get this:

Voted : 2
:
Results will be visible after the poll expires
Poll expires in : 9 Days, 23 Hours, 19 Minutes

So it is hiding the Total Votes but not the Voted number... seems silly.

Okay, I got the same results you did. Polls are a go! I can't see the results, but I can move them to an admin only section when I need to see them and end the polling. THANK YOU!

Wow what a pain this was.... good luck to the coders on this craziness.

I guess if you really wanted to hide the number of votes, you could just edit the tpl file, right?

viewtopic_poll_result.tpl has this:

[code]

{VOTED_SHOW}{voted_vote}

{L_TOTAL_VOTES} ]

Could that first table row be eliminated?

I actually don't care about it displaying the number of votes or not. So I'm good in that respect.

This is definitively a bug. Even when you just click on "Add option", the "hide" checkboxes will be cleared up. Even visitors can see "hidden" poll...

I will move this topic to the confirmed bug forum, please just start a new thread if you see any other problem...
